Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 12, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how pageflare ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the pageflare CLI, Cloud platform, website, and related services (the "Service").
1. What We Collect
CLI Usage
The CLI runs entirely on your machine. It does not transmit your site content, source code, or file names to our servers. The only network request the CLI makes is a license validation check, which sends:
- Your License Key (if configured)
- A machine identifier (hashed, non-reversible) for seat enforcement
- The CLI version number
No site content, file paths, URLs, or optimization results are included in this request.
Cloud Platform
When you use the Cloud Platform, we process the files you upload to perform the optimizations you request. We collect:
- Account information: email address, name, and billing details when you register or purchase a plan.
- Uploaded content: the HTML, CSS, JS, and asset files you submit for optimization. These are processed in memory and deleted after the optimization run completes, unless you explicitly enable artifact retention.
- Usage data: number of optimization runs, file counts, and aggregate size metrics (bytes before/after) to enforce plan limits and display your dashboard.
- API access logs: IP address, timestamp, endpoint, and response status for security and debugging purposes.
Website
When you visit pageflare.dev we collect:
- Analytics: page views, referrer, browser type, and country. We use privacy-focused analytics that do not use cookies and do not track individuals across sites.
- Contact forms: any information you voluntarily provide when contacting us.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide, maintain, and improve the Service.
- To process payments and manage your subscription.
- To enforce usage limits and License Key terms.
- To send transactional emails (account confirmation, billing receipts, service alerts).
- To respond to support requests.
- To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or security incidents.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your uploaded content for any purpose other than performing the optimization you requested.
3. Data Retention
| Data type | Retention |
|---|---|
| Uploaded site content | Deleted immediately after optimization completes (unless artifact retention is enabled, in which case up to 7 days) |
| Account information | Retained while your account is active, deleted within 30 days of account deletion |
| Billing records | Retained as required by tax and financial regulations (typically 7 years) |
| API access logs | 90 days |
| Usage metrics | Retained in aggregate form indefinitely; per-account detail deleted with account |
4. Data Sharing
We share information only in the following circumstances:
- Service providers: payment processors (e.g., Stripe), cloud infrastructure providers (e.g., Cloudflare), and email delivery services, solely to operate the Service.
- Legal requirements: when required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request.
- Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice to affected users.
We do not share your data with advertisers or data brokers.
5. Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (TLS), encryption at rest for stored data, and access controls limiting employee access to personal information. The CLI communicates with our servers exclusively over HTTPS.
6. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate data.
- Request deletion of your data.
- Export your data in a portable format.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@pageflare.dev. We will respond within 30 days.
7. Cookies
The pageflare website does not use tracking cookies. We use only strictly necessary cookies for session management when you are logged in to the Cloud Platform. No third-party advertising or analytics cookies are set.
8. International Transfers
Your data may be processed in countries other than your own. We use Cloudflare's global network, which means optimization processing may occur at the edge location nearest to you. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for any international data transfers.
9. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the email associated with your account or through the Service. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
